MANKATO — The Austin girls soccer team had its season come to an end in a 3-1 loss at top-seeded Mankato East (14-3 overall) in the Section 2A quarterfinals Thursday.

The Cougars scored early in the second half to go up 2-0 and Nicole Lipari put No. 9 Austin (7-9-1 overall) on the board to make it 2-1.

“The girls controlled the ball and made more pressure in the second half,” Austin head coach Enrique Camarena-Corzo said. “I’m very happy with the girls and I respect them for what they did this year.”
