Betty E. Peterson, 85, of Auburndale, Fla., passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the Lake Morton Plaza due to heart failure.

Betty was born May 30, 1927, in Harmony, Minn., to Wesley and Laura (Kiehne) Lange. She was a homemaker of the Methodist faith, and enjoyed sewing, gardening and baking gingerbread cookies. She loved going by the river with her kids for picnics.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chris J. Peterson; and brothers, Jim and Rennard.
Betty is survived by her loving family: three sons, Chris D. Peterson of Orlando, Fla., Terry (Ruth) Peterson of Frenchtown, N.J., Brian (Chris) Peterson of Lakeland; daughter, Karen (Jerry) Stowell of Austin, Minn.; three brothers, Dick, Robert and Richard; sister, Maxine; sister-in-law Joyce; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Holly, Alex, Jonathan and Melissa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Betty’s name to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave. in Auburndale. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Auburndale Memorial Park. Arrangements are with Kersey Funeral Home.
