Camilla Lenore Farnsworth Stephenson, 90, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

Camilla was born on Nov. 12, 1921, in Dexter, Minn. and grew up in Austin. After high school she joined the Waves and was stationed in New York City, where she made lifetime friends. She married her high-school sweetheart, Noel Farnsworth (Futz), after he returned from overseas at the end of World War II. They lived in Ames, Iowa, when Noel was attending Iowa State where they had two sons, Jim and Ron. After graduation, Noel was offered a two-year position as an engineer working for the Panama Canal Company. They lived in Panama for the next 35 years and had two daughters, Patty and Jan. They retired back to Austin in 1983. Camilla was an avid golfer and walker, and loved reading biographies.

She is preceded in death by husband Noel, parents Stanley and Joy Stephenson, sisters Donna Lou Lane and Betty Ann Knoop, brothers Stan and Franklin Stephenson, sister-in-law Dorothy Stephenson, brother-in-law Archie Lane and nephew Roger Stephenson.

She is survived by daughters Patty Farnsworth and Jan Thompson, sons Jim and Ron Farnsworth, daughter-in-laws Jerri and Nancy Farnsworth, sister-in-law Marilyn Stephenson, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Camilla will be greatly missed. We have many great memories that will forever live in our hearts. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Austin on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will be held at the church following the service.
