Lois Elaine Carlson, 84, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

Lois was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Austin, Minn., to Henry and Alma (Berry) Hanson. Lois grew up in Austin, graduating from Austin High School in 1946. In 1947, Lois was united in marriage to Palmer Carlson. The couple moved to California and lived there for many years. They moved back to Austin in 1970. Lois was a homemaker who loved being outdoors and had a nice sense of humor. Spending time with her family and friends was especially important to her. She worked at the Sheriff’s Boys Ranch for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynda Anderson of Rochester, Minn., and Roxanne (Mark) Diehl of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Libby and Jodi; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Alma Hanson; husband Palmer Carlson; son Richard; sisters Maxine (Mickey) Dubke and Beverly Daly; and infant brother Ronald.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Dr. Stephen DeFor officiating. Visitation will be held one half hour before the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family.
