Michael Robert Gumphrey, 44

Michael Robert Gumphrey, 44, of Apple Valley, Minn., died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. His father, Donald Gumphrey, passed away 23 hours later.

Michael had a Harley that he rode for charity runs. He was loved by everybody and had the most infectious smile and laugh. When being photographed, Michael liked to stick his tongue out or make rabbit ears. He often traveled with his mother, Floreen. Besides being family, the two of them were best friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather Russell Glover, brother Thomas Kortz, aunt Janet Blad and nephew Scott Schultz Sr. He is survived by his mother, Floreen Glover Harrison; grandmother, Florence Glover; three brothers, Charles Kortz, Jeffrey Kortz and Ronald Kortz; three sisters, Sandra Lovik, Kathryn Pallansch and Debra Harms; his children, Amanda and Jake Gumphrey; uncle, Robert Glover; and other friends and relatives.

Michael and his father were cremated together on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012. A biker rally and memorial service were held Saturday, Nov. 17.
