Packer girls fall to Red Wing

RED WING — The Austin girls basketball team lost to Red Wing (4-0 overall) 62-47 on the road Thursday.
The Packers (0-2 overall) were led by Jenna Svoboda, who scored 19 points and Steph Justice, who added 15.
The Wingers were led by senior Tesha Buck, who poured in 29 points.
“Buck was phenomenal,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “We played good defense, but she’s a tough matchup. She’s got size and strength and she even hit a couple of NBA threes.”
Austin now has the next week off before hosting Owatonna in its home opener next Friday at 7:15 p.m.
