Angela Dale (Saless) Olsen, 37

Angela Dale (Saless) Olsen, 37, of Ramsey, Minnesota, died, surrounded by her immediate family, on Tuesday May 2, 2017, after bravely fighting a nearly three-year battle with brain cancer.

Angela was born May 30, 1979, in Portland, Maine. She attended Patrick Henry High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Winona State Universityin Winona, Minnesota, where she was a member of the Phi Theta Chi sorority. She married Eric Olsen, a former Austin resident, in 2002, and together they have two children; Hayden,12, and Jenna, 10.

Angela loved children and was a dedicated elementary educator. When her children were young, she paused her career and lovingly educated local children at her in-home daycare. She resumed teaching at Evergreen Elementary until 2015. Angela was an avid baker who loved making elaborate cakes for her friends and family.

An educator at heart, she remained positive throughout her illness, reminding everyone that “you can’t always choose what happens to you, but you can choose your attitude, so choose to be positive.”

She is survived by parents, Allen and Kristin Saless, Minneapolis; brother, Michael Saless, Golden Valley, Minnesota; and grandmother, Deloris Saless. Minneapolis. Angela was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lester Saless.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in the fellowship hall at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 S. Fourth Ave., Anoka, Minnesota, 55303; 763-421-4656.
