Cyrilla M. Valley, 99, St. Cloud

Cyrilla M. Valley, 99, of St. Cloud, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at St. Benedict’s Senior Community Center in St. Cloud.

Cyrilla was born on Aug. 24, 1913, in Clear Lake, Minn., to the late Frank and Dorothy “Dora” (Hofmann) Imholte. She married Lawrence Valley on June 10, 1936, at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake. They resided in southeast St. Cloud where they farmed and raised five children. Cyrilla also was later employed for May Printing. She was a very active member of St. Augustine’s parish, Christian Women, St. Lucy’s Mission Group, the Daughters of Isabella and the Legion of Mary. She also was active with the Clearwater Legion Post No. 323 Auxiliary, Sherburne County Historical Society and Haven Township Card Club.

Cyrilla enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed crafts, gardening and volunteering.

She is survived by her children, Rudy (Sylvia) of St. Cloud, Minn., Yvonne Gorman of Austin, Minn., Ray (Jann) of St. Augusta, Marlene (Larry) Hoffman of Annandale, Vivian (Gary) Ramler of St. Cloud; brothers and sister, Harold Imholte of St. Cloud, Marie Boras of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, Norman (Mary) Imholte of Clear Lake; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence on Dec. 26, 1969; grandson, Jason Hartman; son-in-law, Ardel Gorman; and five siblings, Jerome, Leonard, Andrew and Hilary Imholte and Fidelia “Dale” Mruz.

Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Cyrilla will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church. St. Augustine’s Christian Women along with the Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
