Dorothy Delores Espe, 92, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Bickford Cottage, Davenport, Iowa.

Dorothy was born April 30, 1920, to John and Matilda Armbrust in Dodge Center, Minn., where she grew up and attended country school. After completing her education, Dorothy worked at Hormel for a couple of years before her marriage to Sylvester “Sal” Espe on Aug. 2, 1945, in Austin, where they made their home. A member of Crane Community Chapel, Dorothy enjoyed crafts, music and Button Concertina. She moved to Davenport in February 2011 to be near her daughter.

Survivors include her son, Larry (Nancy) Espe of Zimmerman, Minn.; daughter, Nancy (Kenny Voss) Logue of Sherrard, Ill.; five grandchildren, Matthew (Tabitha) Logue, Mark (Amber) Logue, Ashley (Justin) Krone, Dale Espe and Brandon Espe; eight great-grandchildren, Michelle, K’lea, Tyler, Isabel, Abby, Ally, Hailey and Landon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sal Espe on April 13, 2009; and 16 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
