Nina Mae Swoboda, 85, of Austin, Minn., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Nina Mae Dahlback was born June 1, 1927 in Austin, the daughter of Esten and Mabel (Mathieson) Dahlback. She attended Austin Public Schools and was married to Donald Swoboda on May 31, 1947. For 10 years, Nina worked for the Geo. A. Hormel, Co. She then worked as a meat cutter at the Northwest Market in Austin for 25 years. Nina was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and an active member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed making trips to area casinos as well as spending time visiting with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; brothers, Arthur, Edwin, Donald and Victor; and sisters, Christina, Olga and Esther.

Nina is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Glen Gullickson, Austin; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Jo Swoboda, Austin; grandchildren, Eric and Beth Gullickson, Waseca, Minn., Shannon Gullickson, Austin, Michael Swoboda and Emily Anderson, Rochester, Luke Swoboda, Austin; great-grandchildren, Alex Gullickson, Kiele Gullickson, Ryan Gullickson; great-great-grandson, Keaton Cade Al-Kaissy; sister, Deloris Dahlback, Austin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Karen Behling officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary and for one hour before the service on Monday.
