Packer boys top Eastview

ST. PAUL — The Packer boys basketball team rattled off their eighth straight win to start the season when they beat Eastview (3-4 overall) 68-63 in St. Paul Saturday.
The No. 2 ranked Packers (8-0 overall) struggled in the first half as they went just 7-of-27 from the field in the first half.
Austin rallied back in the second half and took a 47-46 lead when Tom Aase hit a 15-footer. The Packers, who were led by Joe Aase’s 21 points and Zach Wessels’ 20 points, never trailed again.
“Wessels got us going in the start of the second half and then Joe caught fire,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said. “It was a really good win for us.”
Wessels scored the first eight points of the second half for Austin and Aase hit three threes in the second half.
