Ramon Schumann, 81, Rochester

Ramon “Mose” Schumann, 81, of Rochester, Minn., died of cancer Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Season’s Hospice House.

Mose was born July 29, 1931, in Iowa to LaMont and Edna (Gerjets) Schumann. He graduated from Fairview High School. Mose married Sharon Wead in 1956. They lived in Adams until 1965 when they moved to Rochester. They later divorced. He married Mary (Lewis) Stark in 1974. Mose worked at Osmundson Bros. as a farm mechanic and later as a respiratory therapist for Mayo Clinic. He retired from Mayo in 1991.

Mose enjoyed watching his young sons play hockey, was an avid golfer and bowler, loved playing cards and taking casino trips. He was a member of Soldier’s Field Men’s Club, the Elks Lodge and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, three sons, Marc (Karen) of Phoenix, Ariz., Donald (Deb) of Rochester, James (Katie) Stark of Mesa, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, two sons and one daughter.

He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

The funeral for Ramon “Mose” Schumann will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Carol L. Scaffer officiating.
