There’s nothing that drums up team pride like a border battle.
Minnesota Vikings fans outraised Green Bay Packers fans during the Salvation Army’s kettle drive competition Saturday $220 to $168. Lt. David Amick said the event brought new energy to the kettle drive.
“It was a different enthusiasm for the kettles that day,” Amick said. “I think it made it a little bit more fun.”
Several more challenges are on the horizon, including Austin Police Department vs. Austin Fire Department on Dec. 15. The kettle drive kicked off on Nov. 15 and goes through Dec. 24, Christmas eve. For more information, call the Salvation Army’s Lt. David Amick at 507-437-4566, extension 102.
