Wilma M. Johnson

Wilma was born to William and Ethel Kraft on May 1, 1923, at home on the family farm near Dexter, Minn. She was the third child and oldest daughter in a family of seven children. She attended school in Dexter, Minn. On October 10, 1942, she was married to Alton Johnson at St. Olaf Church in Austin. They resided in Austin where Al was employed at Hormel’s and Wilma was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling and watching her favorite TV shows: “As the World Turns,” “Bonanza” and “Gunsmoke.” She loved to hang out a “nice wash on the clothesline,” to visit with the “neighbor ladies” and to find a great sale.

In March 2003, she moved to the assisted living wing of the Stacyville Community Nursing Home. While there, she became a top notch Bingo player and a champion table-top bowler. In fact, she became the first person to roll a perfect score of 300 in Stacyville.
