A celebration of life for Paul Jacob Twito will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
Paul Twito died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Farview Hospital in Edina. He was 55 years old.
Paul was born in Albert Lea on Dec. 21, 1957, to Jacob and Mae (Skrutvold) Twito. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1976, and went on to Austin Junior College where he received an associates degree. He then attended Mankato State University where he was working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science. On Aug. 23, 1981, in his last quarter of college, Paul was involved in a car accident on his way home from a church convention in Colorado Springs, Colo. This accident changed his life forever. Paul overcame his disabilities and accomplished many goals.
He was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and was a member of Evergreen Church and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He was an original Mall of America employee, which he was very proud of. After his accident, Paul became a member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Group and was involved in Faith and Light and many Bible studies.
Paul loved his family, church, Bible studies and God. He was an inspirational person with a positive attitude.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides.
Paul is survived by his parents, Jacob and Mae of Albert Lea; brother John Twito of Albert Lea; special friend, Lisa McConnel of St. Louis Park; and many other loving relatives and friends.
