MANKATO — The Packers continued to struggle on offense as they lost to Mankato East (9-10-1 overall, 2-5 Big Nine) 2-1 on the road Saturday.
The Packers (5-11 overall, 2-8 Big Nine) have now lost their last four games and they’ve scored just one goal in all four of those contests.
“We’re in a scoring drought and hopefully we can get it going next week,” Austin head coach Erik LaRok said.
Austin’s lone goal came in the first period when Tyler Stevens scored on assists from Marcus Stoulil and Adam Maxfield. The Packers had 36 shots in the loss and goalie Gus Kirsch had 22 saves.
The Cougars scored the game-winning goal during a five-minute powerplay in the third period.
