Danny Nodvedt, 59, of Spring Valley, Minn., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Red Wing Health Center.

Danny was born July 2, 1953, to Clifford Julius and Doris (Olson) Nodtvedt in Austin, Minn., at St. Olaf Hospital. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. He graduated from high school and attended one year of college. On Dec. 10, 1977, he was united in marriage to Susan Hamlin at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, Minn. He worked as a heavy equipment operator until he was unable. Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and muscle cars.

He is survived by his wife Susan of Spring Valley; son Brent of Spring Valley; granddaughter Tayten; sisters Vickie Nodtvedt Stevens of Red Wing, Minn., and Julie (Dennis) Helgeson of Grand Meadow, Minn.; his father and mother in-law Clifford “Kip” (Kathryn) Hamlin; sisters-in-law Janine (Rick) Hyland, Vicki (Scott) Babineau; brothers-in-law Brady (Sheila) Hamlin and Rory Hamlin; nieces and nephews Christopher, Travis, Trenton, Tali, Sarah, Sadie, Wyatt, Braden, Kaitlyn and Kaleb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford (1966) and Doris (1978).

Funeral services for Danny Nodtvedt will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, with Pastor Mark Rader officiating. Burial will be held at Spring Valley Cemetery. Friends and family may call Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley and one hour prior to the service at church.
