Mark August Wollenburg, 47, Brownsdale

Mark August Wollenburg, 47, of Brownsdale, Minn., died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Mark dealt with lung issues since 2003, which ultimately caused heart failure.

Mark was born May 3, 1965, in Austin, Minn., to George August Wollenburg Jr., and Marilyn Elizabeth (Juhnke) Wollenburg. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church near Waltham and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Brownsdale. Mark enjoyed studying and discussing God’s Word in various Bible study groups.

Survivors include his mother, Marilyn Wollenburg of Brownsdale; brother, Steven Wollenburg of Brownsdale; three sisters, Jane (Pastor Jim) Nihiser of Traverse City, Mich., Linda (Brian) Wellik of Rochester and Mary (Jeffrey) Duehlmeyer of Des Moines, Iowa; eight nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and -nephews; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, George August Wollenburg Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pleasant Valley, near Racine, with Pastor Ron Prigge officiating. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Waltham. Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
