WINONA — The No. 2 ranked Packers rattled off their 13th straight win when they beat Winona (6-9 overall, 3-4 Big Nine) 63-38 on the road Tuesday.
Austin (13-0 overall, 7-0 Big Nine) forced 21 turnovers and they held Winona to 4-of-21 shooting from the arc.
“It was all about our defense tonight,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said. “We turned a lot of those turnovers into points.”
Tom Aase scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half and Ajuda Nywesh added 12 points for Austin.
“We struggled in the half court offense and we didn’t shoot very well,” Fadness said. “It was a good win against what I consider a dangerous team on the road.”
