NORTHFIELD — The No. 6 seeded Austin girls hockey team had its season come to an end on an 8-2 loss at No. 3 Northfield (16-9 overall) Wednesday.
Allison Hoban finished with 39 saves for Austin (8-19 overall), which attempted just 15 shots in the loss.
Kennedy Thompson and Camille Anderson each scored a goal for the Packers.
“They kind of took it to us,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said.
The Packers will graduate the last two players, who played on their 2008 state tournament team in Thompson and Carley Grunewald.
“This team had no quit and they had good character,” Bray said. “We had a good run in January.”
The Packers will bring back both of their freshman goalies and their second line will come back in its entirety next season.
“There’s some silver lining,” Bray said.
