George Arnold Overlie, 89, of Minneapolis passed away March 23, 2013.

George Overlie

George was born and raised in Rose Creek, Minn. He served with the U.S. Army at Omaha Beach and retired as a freelance artist. He enjoyed family, friends and the outdoors, and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret; children, Sara (Richard) Kloeper, Ann (Jorge) Marquez and George Alfred; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings Ralph, Daphine Ofsthun and Shirley (Dale) Capon; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 10 a.m., with visitation starting at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1 Lourdes Place, Minneapolis. Burial will be later at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Washburn-McReavy is in charge of arrangements.
