Two fantastic events are happening this week at the Historic Paramount Theatre.

At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, we are hosting a Comedy Showcase in partnership with Rotaract, a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30.

This show was put together by local comedian Jeff Larson and features several hilarious comedians from the Twin Cities area.

Headliner Jon Wilson, is quickly becoming a favorite performer out of Minneapolis. His act is unique, memorable and of course, hilarious.

In 2011 Jon appeared on the Showtime TV special “Louie Anderson Presents.”

The show will also feature David Harris, Laura Thorne and Jeff Larson. David Harris is a standup comedian and magician from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has appeared on ABC, CBS, and FOX TV affiliates to rave reviews.

Laura Thorne is a Minneapolis-based comedian who performs across the midwest at clubs, corporate events and fundraisers.  Her comedy has been featured in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Jeff has been a semi-finalist in ACME comedy club’s Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest. He has been called “one of the most popular comedians” in the region by entertainment columnist Marissa Block.

Tickets for the Comedy Showcase are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Then, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, we will present the groovy “Age of Aquarius,” featuring Denny Charnecki and the DC Drifters with several talented guest performers. This show was a huge hit last year and features the greatest hits from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Tickets for this event are $14 in advance for adults and $5 for students. All tickets are $2 more at the door. Tickets for both events are available to purchase online at paramounttheatre.org or by calling 507-434-0934.
