Elizabeth Ann “Bette” Thill, 89, of Rose Creek, Minn., died at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin from complications related to Parkinson’s disease, on Sunday, April 14, 2013.

Elizabeth was born on Feb. 1, 1924, in Duluth, Minn., to Anna and Fergus Marren. She grew up in St. Paul and Austin, Minn. She graduated from the College of St. Catherine and entered the Cadet Nurse Corp. during World War II. After the war she was employed by the George A. Hormel Company.

Elizabeth is survived by husband Jack Thill of Rose Creek; three sons, John and Janet Thill of Leawood, Kan., Jeffrey and Debbie Thill of Spring Park, Minn., Kevin and Linda Thill of Austin, Texas; sister, Patricia M. Stoecker of Seneca, S.C.; four grandchildren, K. Patrick Thill of Sunnyvale, Calif., Ryan Thill of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lindsay Thill of Gainesville, Fla., Anna Thill of Austin, Texas; and three grandchildren by marriage, Gina Manthey of Eagan, Minn., Jenna Kulberg (Jessie) of Monticello, Minn., Anders Berglund of Spring Park, Minn.; and two great-grandchildren, Karly Kulberg and Connor Kulberg of Monticello.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Harry O. Bakken; and brother, Raymond B. Vecellio.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek with Father Tom Loomis officiating. There will be a 7 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
