Hormel Foods Corp. announced Monday that it was ranked the top Minnesota-based company and 31st overall on the 14th annual Corporate Responsibility Magazine 100 Best Corporate Citizens list. This is the fifth consecutive year Hormel has been recognized on the list.
“We are honored to be recognized as an outstanding corporate citizen for our efforts,” said Julie Craven, vice president of corporate communications at Hormel. “Corporate responsibility is true team effort at Hormel Foods — it is something we focus on and it represents our work in the areas of people, process, performance, products and philanthropy.”
According to the magazine, the list documents 298 data points of disclosure and performance measures from publicly available information in seven categories: environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance and philanthropy. The list ranks the Russell 1000 index.
Hormel publicly discloses information about its dedication to corporate responsibility each year through the Hormel Foods Corporate Responsibility Report and several other initiatives. The 2012 report will be released in May.
