LaVerne Dale Ingvalson, 83, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 12, 2013, from complications of Parkinson’s disease.
Vern was born at home on the farm to Nels and Levena Ingvalson. He was baptized, confirmed and married at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Blooming Prairie, where he met his soul mate Marlene. The two were married for 60 years. He enlisted in the Air Force and graduated from the University of Minnesota.
He went on to teach agriculture, work for Minnesota Power and Light, and finish his career at Minnesota Farm Bureau as a Lobbyist. Together they had three children, Debra (Mark) Hurrle, Scott, Robyn (Jim) Tretter; six grandchildren, Adam (Nicole), Eric, Brian, Jacob (Olivia) Andy and Danielle; and three great-grandkids, Alex, Ashleigh and Sierra. Vern was committed to his Christian faith and showed it everyday in how he lived his life.
