Area leaders will again tour the local agricultural scene during Leadership Austin’s Agriculture and Agribusiness Day on April 11.

Participants will meet at Riverland Community College’s west building in room B104 before check-in and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. After a welcome and overview, the group will take buses to various Mower County farms, including the Merten farm, Absolute Energy, the Miller dair farm and the Thome hog farm.

Rep. Jeanne Poppe and Sen. Dan Sparks, both DFL-Austin, will join the tour and speak with other special guests. The tour will wrap up at 4:30 p.m. Look for more about this year’s ag tour in Friday’s Herald.
