CANNON FALLS — The Austin girls golf team advanced three golfers to the final round at the Section 1AA meet at the Cannon Golf Club Thursday.

Lauren Stasi shot a 96 as she advanced for the Packers and Caitlyn Stanley, who shot a 100, and Steph Justice, who shot a 102, also moved on.

“Almost all of the girls playing today struggled with putting,” Austin head caoch Stephanie Wagner said. “The greens played fast today, this made it difficult for the girls to judge.”

Austin finished eighth as a team with a score of 408. Katie Maxa shot a 110 for the Packers.

“I also think it was weird for the girls to play on a ground that wasn’t soaked,” Wagner said. “I am very proud of my girls and what they have accomplished. This season was tough, very short, and not much practice time on actual course.”
