KAUS Radio in Austin has a new news director, Ed Brady.

Brady has more than 40 years of experience in radio broadcasting and worked for the past eight years on-air at KLCI-FM in the Twin Cities. He has also worked as a radio announcer in Denver, Omaha, Neb., and Cleveland.

Brady is originally from Ohio, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcasting at Kent State University in 1971. He also earned his master’s degree in divinity at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. He is a non-denominational pastor and minister, ordained after his seminary graduation in 2000.

“The move to Austin,” Brady said in a press release, “is a quality of life choice because my wife’s daughter and son-in-law live in Austin, and we wanted to move close to the kids.”

Brady’s primary responsibility will be as KAUS news director every weekday morning, plus he will spend his afternoons making sales calls and selling radio advertising for KAUS AM-FM. The local radio station has been on-air in Austin since 1948 and is owned by Three Eagles Communications.
