ROCHESTER — The Austin boys golf team put up a season’s best score of 331 and finished seventh at the Big Nine meet in Rochester Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to put them in contention.
Rochester Century won Wednesday’s meet with a 307, but Owatonna won the conference after scoring a 311.
The Packers were led by Alex Thorson, who shot a 76.
“ Having a day like today makes one wish we had another few weeks of golf to play,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said. “Having a weathered spring like this one really shows how important it is to get out to play.”
The Packers finished eighth in the Big Nine for the year.
Austin scores: Alex Thorson, 76; Tony Baudler, 81; James Snee, 82; Ethan Morrey, 92; Nick Ross, 93
