Winter weather advisory issued until noon Friday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory until noon today as more snow fell overnight and this morning after a storm dumped heavy, wet snow across the area Wednesday night and Thursday.
Another 1 to 3 inches of snow was expected in northern Iowa and southeast Minnesota by this morning. The snow is expected to change to sleet, freezing rain and then rain as temperatures warm this morning toward the forecast high of 36.
With 15 to 25 mph winds, NWS was also warning of drifting snow on some roads.
According to the weather services, the area will warm to highs in the 60s on Sunday and Monday and 70 on Tuesday. However, rain is expected to stay in the area tonight, Saturday and possibly into Sunday. Saturday’s high is forecast at 48, with a low of 41.
