Alice M. Bowe, 91, of Austin, Minn., died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the home of her daughter.

Alice Marion Peterson was born June 3, 1922, in Fountain, Minn., to Raymond E. and Cora J. (Rogstead) Peterson. She attended school in Fountain and worked on the family farm until her marriage to William M. Bowe on Oct. 15, 1940, in Preston, Minn. The couple lived in Chatfield before moving to Austin in the early 1940s. Alice worked at the Geo. A. Hormel & Company until after World War II, when she decided to stay at home to raise her family. A member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Alice enjoyed gardening, crocheting and playing bingo.

Survivors include her children Mary Dennison, Beverly Ingersoll and Wanda (Tom) Engelman, all of Austin; 10 grandchildren Lon, Bill, Robin, Mike, Dena, Allen, Brandon, Amy, Pete and Dan; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Betty Peterson of Sun City, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Cora Peterson; her husband William Bowe in 2002; her great-granddaughter Jessica Haskin; two sons-in-law Frank Dennison and Larry Ingersoll; her brother Charles Peterson; her sister Pearl Ingvaldson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Kristi Koppel officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family.
