The Austin Area Art Center is urging local artists to start planning for its annual Festival Art Show.

Arists age 16 or older can submit paintings, sculptures, drawings and photographs for the 28th annual show between noon and 4 p.m. from June 28 to June 30 at the art center in Oak Park Mall. Pieces must be ready to display.

The entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 each for additional entries. The limit is four entries.

Monetary awards will be presented for professional, pro-am and amateur categories, along with a $500 purchase award from the city of Austin.

The show’s awards and prize money will be presented at a ceremony at 3 p.m. July 7. The Austin Area Art Center will select pieces to displayed based on space and merit permit. Pieces remain on display until July 28.

Guidelines and entry forms may be picked up at the Austin Area Art Center, Austin Public Library and Lou’s Forever Framing.
