An Austin man said his ex-girlfriend is now safe after she went to Chicago with two men who reportedly wouldn’t let her return home.

According to the police report, the 25-year-old Austin man told Austin police the 18-year-old wanted to take a break from dating, and she left with two men and another female during the weekend. The 25-year-old man told police he received texts and Facebook messages from the 18-year-old girl that stated she was in Chicago, scared and wanted to come home; however, the two men she was with would not let her go.

Officers with the Park Ridge Police Department in Illinois found the teen and the two men she was with; however, the report states the teen was very vague and short with the officers.

Early Sunday morning, the 25-year-old later reported to the Austin Police Department that the teen had escaped. Austin officers spoke with the 25-year-old, who said the girl was safe and at the police department in downtown Chicago.
