More than 300 kids take part in meet

The Austin Noon Kiwanis track meet held on June 18 was a huge success with 300-plus kids competing at Wescott Field. You will have another chance to compete on Thursday, July 18, so mark your calendars.

The municipal pool has had some great attendance this past week. If you haven’t checked it out here is list of our open hours: 1 to 4:45 p.m. Monday – Friday, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday evenings, 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

This year, we are selling pool season memberships for $30 per person and not using the tag as we have in the past.

You will check in with your name and not have to worry about losing your tag. If that is not for you then the afternoon fee is $3 and the evening fee is $2. Those 2 and under are free. Watch for the open sign that hangs off the diving well corner on Main Street.

Looking for something different? Rent the pool for an hour or two. Call our office to check on availability and pricing at 433-1881.

We have held one ADM Day Camp and the next one is June 28 at Packer Arena. There are several cool things happening that will be mixed in during the day. At the last camp there was a demonstration on martial arts.

The camp starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 3:55 p.m. for those students 9 to 11 years of age. Lunch is provided and the cost is $25 for the day.

We will offer two more in July on the 12 and 26. You can join all or just one it is up to you.

The Nature Center will again hold its Thursday Nature Play, which offers free canoe rentals for adults (16 and older) with a child. Call the Nature Center at 507-437-7519 for more info. They began Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Park pavilions are for rent as well as the Ruby Rupner building at the Nature Center. You can call Park and Recreation to inquire about availability at 433-1881 or stop in. Call the Nature Center at 437-7519 to check on the Ruby Rupner building.
