Myrna M. Kruckeberg, 70, of Austin, Minn., died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.
Myrna Marie Planz was born July 22, 1942, in Austin to Hugo and Ruth (Schrieber) Planz. After attending Austin High School and Austin Junior College, she married David Kruckeberg on Oct. 21, 1962, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. The couple later divorced. Myrna loved music, and sang both as a soloist and a choir member in church and community choirs. She felt this brought her close to God. Myrna made her life as a homemaker and raised two sons.
Survivors include her father, Hugo Planz of Austin; sons, Matthew Kruckeberg of Fargo, N.D., and Andrew Kruckeberg of Newport Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Andrew Kaser and Trevor Domier; siblings, Steven (Barbara) Planz, Debra (Pat) Perkins and Lynda (Joseph) Hodges. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Planz; and her ex-husband, David Kruckeberg.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Jeff Forbes officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, Minn. Memorials can be directed to recipient of donor’s choice.
