Susan Kay Carr, 58, of Austin, Minn., died Monday, June 17, 2013, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.

Susan was born Jan. 2, 1955, in Austin to Donald and Joyce (Chinander) Bailey. She lived in Des Moines, Iowa, for 28 years before moving back to Austin. She was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church until it closed, and then became a member of First United Methodist. Susan was a loving mother to her three children, whom she loved very much.

Survivors include her children Amber (DeMarco) Turner, Eric (Sheila) Carr and Lee (Tiffany) Howard, all of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren Kyree, Alijah, Lakayla, Erica, Neriah, Aaliyah and Rilee, all of Des Moines; her mother, Joyce Bailey of Austin; her sister, Penny (Dennis) Sanderson of Eau Claire, Wis.; her brothers, Rod (Rose) Bailey of Austin, Gary Bailey of Kansas and Bob (Susan) Bailey of Austin; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Bailey and longtime love and husband of 27 years, Albert Lee Howard.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Marilee Benson officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at Worlein Funeral Home. Memorials can be directed to the family. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin.
