Austin will celebrate National Night Out a day earlier than the rest of the country this year.
National Night Out, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6 throughout America, will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at the Veterans Pavilion by Bandshell Community Park in Austin. Members with the Austin Police Department opted to move this year’s night out against crime one night earlier, so it won’t conflict with the beginning of the Mower County Fair.
National Night Out, in its 30th year nationwide, is a night for American communities to meet their local law enforcement and emergency officials while participating in games and demonstrations.
