Jennie Knoebel, executive director of the Paramount Theatre, received minor injuries after she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle south of Adams Friday.

Mower County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a car and bike accident in the area at 200th Street and 690th Avenue at about 6 p.m. Friday, according to Mower County Chief Deputy Mark May.

May said Knoebel was riding bike with a family member on the shoulder of the road when an 88-year-old driver struck Knoebel, causing her to fall and skid onto the roadway.

Knoebel received road rash on her left side, according to the police report. May said the driver was not cited but deputies filled out a form to have his license examined.

Knoebel was driven to the Austin hospital by family. The accident won’t cause her to miss work, she said Monday morning.

“I pretty much wiped out,” Knoebel said.
