HAYFIELD — The 3rd Annual Seth Pack Golf Classic will be held at the Oaks Golf Club in Hayfield Aug. 2.
It is a four person scramble starting at 11 a.m. The cost is $60 per person, which includes 18-holes of golf, a cart, one raffle ticket and meal. Proceeds will go to the ARC of SE Minnesota Down Syndrome Group. There will be a raffle following golf.
For those who aren’t golfing, raffle tickets are $5 each, three for $10, or eight for $20. You don’t need to be present to win.
Seth Pack is 6-years old and has Down syndrome. He will be starting kindergarten next year in Brownsdale. Last year the Classic raised $4,500, after raising $3,000 the first year, for families in the area that have children with Down syndrome.
The money from the first two years has helped pay for music therapy, a week at summer camp, an adaptive stroller, an iPad, a sign language DVD set, a reading and writing program, and eyeglasses among other things. Families in Southeast Minnesota submit grant requests for up to $200 per year to help offset costs for these sorts of things.
