Special Olympics bowling registration is open in Mower County

Get ready for some strikes, good friends and fun memories, because it is time once again for bowling. Special Olympic bowlers must have current Special Olympics form on file at The Arc Mower County.
These forms must be updated every three years and require a physician’s signature. Athletes will not be allowed to participate in the practices or competitions without an updated form. Bowling will be held on Wednesdays, Sept. 11, 2013, to March 19, 2014, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Echo Lanes in Austin. The season cost is $20 for member or $24 for non-members. Scholarships are available. Tournaments will be held in Austin in October and Lakeville in November.
Raising expectations at 2013 state conference
Mark your calendars for The Arc of Minnesota’s 2013 state conference. We will be in the Twin Cities once again — Nov. 1 and 2 at the Doubletree Park Place in St. Louis Park. This year’s theme: “Raising Expectations.” The Conference Planning Committee is finalizing keynotes, workshop topics and workshop presenters, and the Awards Committee is collecting nominations for outstanding Minnesotans and Minnesota organizations to honor at the Awards Banquet during the conference.
