We have two more ADM Day Camp dates for children age 9 to 11 on July 12 and 26. The camp is held at Packer Arena and offers a variety of activities for students to try during the day. Camp is held from 9 a.m. to 3:55 p.m., with snacks and lunch provided for a low cost of $25 per camp day. Students at the first camp made bird houses to take and students at the second camp decorated and took home kites. Don’t delay, sign up today.

We hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July and would like to remind the Park and Recreation summer program participates their activities resume Monday, July 8.

Thursday, July 18, will be a busy evening as the Austin Noon Kiwanis will host the second Gene Roden Memorial Track Meet at Wescott Field. The meet is for ages 3 and up with field events starting at 6:15 p.m. and running events at 6:30 p.m. Bring the family and friends out for some fun outdoor activities.

Also on July 18, the Nature Center will host the Okee Dokee Brothers, Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing. This year they won the best Children’s Album of the Year Grammy for their album “Can You Canoe?” Their goal is to inspire children and parents to get outside and experience nature.

This is a must-see free program with a senior special from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Family/children show will be at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Again, RSVP by phone at 507-437-7519 or e-mail jchnatur@smig.net by July 17.

The Austin Municipal Pool offers swim lessons in two week sessions for $30 per person per session. The next session will begin on July 15 to July 26 and the last session runs July 29 to Aug. 9.
