An Austin woman was taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Interstate 90 and Highway 218.
Yesenia Masood, 41 of Austin, was turning off westbound Interstate 90 onto southbound Highway 218 when the 2012 Honda Pilot she was driving and a 1994 Mercedes collided, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Masood was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. The state patrol listed Jessica Schurmann, a 22-year-old from Nauston, Wis., as a passenger of the Mercedes, but the driver has not been documented.
Gold Cross Ambulance and Mower County Sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene.
The Honda Pilot sustained moderate damage and was towed to Midtown Auto Clinic. The Mercedes also sustained moderate damage, but was not towed.
