Friends and family of late Mike Janning will host a cruise and car show on Aug. 25, at Pizza Ranch, to raise funds for his medical expenses.
Janning passed away Aug. 10 after a long battle with cancer.
In his early life, he served in the Army as a medic and spent nearly a year in Vietnam. He worked at Wilson’s foods in Albert Lea until 1983, when transverse myelitis left him paralyzed from the chest down.
The entry fee, including the cruise and the show, will be $10, and all proceeds will go to Janning’s family.
Pre-show registration and cruise line-up will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and late registration will be from noon to 2 p.m. The cruise will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will last about an hour. The car show will take place from 1 to 4 p.m, and awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m. At 5 p.m., there will be a benefit at Pizza Ranch, and a percentage of evening sales will go toward Janning’s medical expenses.
