I-35W northbound will be closed in Burnsville

Traveling metro area roads and highways this weekend is going to be tricky. Road projects — some big ones — will likely spawn areas of increased congestion.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Thursday a few projects that motorists should monitor closely:

— U.S. 10 will be one lane between West Main Street (also known as Greenhaven Road) and Seventh Avenue in Anoka.

— Northbound Interstate 35W will be closed between the I-35/I-35W/I-35E split and Minnesota 13 in Burnsville. Additionally, southbound I-35 will be one lane between the interstate split and County Road 42.

— Minnesota 36 will be closed in both directions between U.S. 61 and White Bear Avenue in Maplewood.

— The U.S. 52 Lafayette bridge will still have vehicle length restrictions: None longer than 35 feet will be allowed.

— Minnesota 95 will be closed in both directions between County Road 12 and Minnesota 16.

— U.S. 169 will be a single lane in both directions between County Road 21 in Shakopee and Pioneer Trail in Bloomington. It will also be closed southbound between Minnesota 55 in Golden Valley and 77th Avenue in Brooklyn Park.

— Eastbound I-694 will be a single lane between Minnesota 100 in Brooklyn Center and Long Lake Road in New Brighton between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., while the westbound side will be a single lane from Minnesota 65 to Minnesota 100 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
