MAPLE LAKE —The Austin Greyhounds kept their season alive with a 10-2 win over the St. Michael Saints in the Class ‘B’ state tournament in Maple Lake Sunday.
The Hounds blasted four homers in the win and Joe Huffman didn’t allow a hit until the seventh inning.
Matt Cano, Jeremy Williams, Tyler Leopold and Craig Braaten all homered in the win for Austin.
Williams also made a big catch in left center field for the Hounds when he crashed into the wall while running full speed.
“The tin wall was dented significantly,” Austin manager John Frein said. “It looked like a car ran into it.”
The Hounds lost their first state tournament game to Shakopee by a score of 4-2.
The Hounds must win six in a row to win the state title. They will play another elimination game Sunday at 5 p.m.
