Plenty of variety at this year’s Festival

This is the continuation of a series of articles profiling some of the artists participating in this year’s Austin ArtWorks Festival. The series will continue until the festival itself.
The music lineup for this year’s Austin ArtWorks Festival at the Historic Downtown Power Plant is quite an eclectic mix.
Several of the performers were at last year’s Festival, including Trace Bundy, Peter Jacobs Combo, Denny Charnecki, Cedar River Strings and Adam Wayne Wollenburg to name a few.
We are presenting several new artists to round out the schedule.
Sena Ehrhardt will be closing the Festival at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Raised in Austin and a rising blues sensation, Sena has been performing in venues and festivals throughout the upper Midwest.
She recently released her new album “All In” this past March. Her debut album “Leave the Lights On” was voted 2012’s Blues Blast Magazine’s “Best New Artist Debut Release” award winner.
Most of the music on the new album was co-written by her with her dad and guitarist Ed Ehrhardt.
Another talented musician that many may not have heard before will be playing in the new Turbine Gallery Stage at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Marc Anderson is an internationally recognized percussionist and composer. His work has mainly focused on West African and African diasporic drum traditions, but he also has experience with Afro Cuban and Brazilian drumming and the Indian tabla.
He has appeared on more than 250 recordings, and is an adjunct professor in the Anthropology Department at Hamline University. See Sena, Marc and all the other talented performers at the Austin ArtWorks Festival.
