A special guest will be among those to attend Pacelli Catholic Schools’ upcoming dinner dance.
Retired Bishop Bernard Harrington of the Diocese of Winona will attend the school’s 100-year anniversary event, which runs from 6 p.m. to midnight Aug. 24 at the Austin Country Club.
Harrington, a Detroit native, was ordained as a priest in 1959 and as a bishop in 1994. He became the seventh bishop of Winona in 1999, according to the Diocese of Winona website. He submitted his request for retirement in 2008 at the age of 75.
Guests can make reservations for the dinner dance at the school at $25 per person. The price includes dinner, speeches from the bishop, announcement of the new principal, a cake-cutting ceremony and a dance featuring the Austin Big Band.
Call Pacelli at 507-437-3278 and leave a message with name, phone number and number of guests, or email smarx@pacellischools.org for more information.
