Police are searching for several thousand dollars worth of copper that reportedly went missing from northeast Austin in late July.
According to the police report, someone cut 500 feet of lead wire from a Miller welder between July 30 and 31 in the 2000 block of 14th Street NE.
The owner did not report the theft until Thursday. A thief also reportedly took heavy-gauge wire that was on a pallet.
Police have no suspects at this time.
