A Kasson man arrested for shattering a glass door at El Parral Ballroom on June 29 changed his plea to guilty Thursday in Mower County Court.

Pedro Perez, 18, pleaded guilty to felony first-degree property damage as part of a plea agreement. A misdemeanor minor consumption charge was dismissed.

Austin Police arrested Perez on a Saturday night after he reportedly got angry and caused major damage at the El Parral Ballroom. According to an employee, Perez argued with another person in the building, got angry, punched and shattered the glass door to the bar. Security officers had detained Perez while a police officer arrived; however, Perez would not cooperate for a cop. That officer then sprayed Perez with pepper spray and arrested him.
