BURNSVILLE, Minn. (AP) — Police say a missing 20-year-old University of Minnesota student is dead.
Anarae Schunk was last seen at Nina’s Grill in Burnsville last Saturday with her ex-boyfriend, Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, also known as Anthony Lee Nelson.
In a news release issued Saturday afternoon, Burnsville police said they uncovered evidence Friday that led them to believe she was the victim of a homicide. Police wouldn’t release any other information. A search continues for her body.
Her brother Tyson Schunk says police told the family late Friday night and it was confirmation of “the worst.”
Schunk has been missing since the night of Sept. 21 after she was seen with Nelson.
Nelson is charged with fatally shooting Palagor Obang Jobi in the parking lot after a fight.
